Founding Partner

Stephen Ratner is a New York attorney whose career spans the White House, the U.S. Department of Justice, Georgetown Law, and the front lines of the AI and technology industry. He founded Ratner to represent individuals in high-stakes employment disputes, technology matters, whistleblower claims, and regulatory issues.

Stephen served as Deputy Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Justice during the Obama Administration, supporting communications for the Attorney General on matters of national security and civil rights. At DOJ, he staffed the Attorney General for high-profile events including during the Boston Marathon Bombing and Edward Snowden's leak of national security information.

After earning his J.D. at Georgetown Law, Stephen practiced corporate law at Gunderson Dettmer, advising startups and growth-stage companies on formations, financings, and commercial agreements. He then served as legal counsel at Synthesia, an AI unicorn, and Product Manager developing legal technology at Remote.com, working at the frontier of AI, international employment, and platform governance with some of the most successful tech founders in the U.S. and Europe.
