No Guarantee of Results

Every legal matter is different. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. The outcome of any particular case depends on a variety of factors, including the specific facts and circumstances, the applicable law, and the conduct of the parties involved. Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a promise or guarantee about the outcome of any legal matter.

Jurisdictional Limitations

Ratner PLLC and its attorneys are only authorized to practice law in the jurisdictions where they are admitted to the bar. Each attorney's specific bar admissions are listed on their individual profile page. We do not practice law in jurisdictions where we are not licensed, except as may be permitted by applicable pro hac vice or multijurisdictional practice rules.

Engagement Terms

The information on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is formed by visiting this website, sending us an email, or submitting an inquiry through any channel. An attorney-client relationship with Ratner PLLC is established only upon the Firm's explicit acceptance of an engagement, confirmed in writing through our terms of engagement.

All legal engagements are subject to the Firm's review and acceptance, including conflict checks and an evaluation of whether we are the right fit for your matter. We reserve the right to decline any engagement at our sole discretion.

Attorney-Client Privilege & Confidentiality During Intake

If you contact us about a potential legal matter, the information you share during the intake process may be protected by the attorney-client privilege and by the duty of confidentiality, even if we do not ultimately accept your case. Under the applicable Rules of Professional Conduct, a lawyer who receives information from a prospective client owes a duty not to reveal that information or use it to the disadvantage of the prospective client.

This means that when you contact us to discuss a potential matter, you can share the facts of your situation with the expectation that we will keep that information confidential. However, we encourage you to share only what is necessary for us to evaluate your matter during the initial consultation. If we determine that a conflict of interest or other issue prevents us from representing you, we will promptly notify you, and the information you shared will remain protected.

Please note that sending a general inquiry (such as "I'd like to discuss an employment matter") does not by itself create a privileged communication. The protections described above attach when you share substantive information about your legal situation for the purpose of obtaining legal advice.
